Growing Your Felis Lux Cat Grass Blend

Your cat is going to love this.

Cat grass is one of the easiest and most rewarding things you can grow at home, and your feline friend will thank you for it. Whether your cat likes to nibble, roll around in it, or just stare at it judgmentally, fresh cat grass is a wonderful little treat. Here's everything you need to get started with your Felis Lux Cat Grass Blend.

What You'll Need

  • Your Felis Lux Cat Grass Blend
  • A shallow pot or tray with drainage holes
  • Potting soil or seed-starting mix
  • Water
  • A sunny-ish spot (or a bright window)

Step 1: Plant Your Seeds

Fill your container with about 2–3 inches of potting soil. Scatter your seeds generously across the surface (cat grass seeds like to be cozy together) and press them gently into the soil. Cover with a thin layer of soil, about ¼ inch deep.

Step 2: Water and Wait

Give the soil a good drink and keep it consistently moist (but not soggy) during germination. Cover the tray loosely with a damp paper towel for the first couple of days to help hold in moisture. You should see sprouts poking up within 3–5 days!

Step 3: Move to the Light

Once your grass starts sprouting, remove any covering and move it to a bright spot — a sunny windowsill works great. Cat grass doesn't need direct sunlight, but it does love good light. Water every day or two, whenever the top of the soil feels dry.

Step 4: Let Your Cat Enjoy

Your cat grass will be ready to enjoy once it reaches 4–6 inches tall. Set it somewhere your cat can access easily and let them go to town!

A Few Tips for Success

Rotate the tray every day or two so the grass grows evenly toward the light.

Trim it back if it starts to flop over — a little haircut keeps it fresh longer.

Keep a fresh batch going by replanting every 10–14 days so your cat always has something to nibble on.

Cat grass typically stays fresh for 2–3 weeks. When it starts to yellow or wilt, it's time to plant a new round!
